Photo of CaptiView – For You Too?

April 6, 2012 § 1 Comment

Here’s a photo of the (controversial) cinema captioning system called captiview. It’s rolled out now in many more movie theaters, in USA, in Austalia, and your country?

Lots of discussion about it in CCAC members forum, e.g. in comparison to RVW (rear view window), open captioning, and more. Not easy to evaluate based on this photo.

I was privileged to use CaptiView for the first time this past month at a Century Cinema in Monterey, CA and I LOVED IT!! It worked PERFECTLY! I am late-in-life profoundly deaf and haven’t gone to a theater to see a movie in years! I cried when it actually worked and I was able to completely follow the entire movie!! Going again tomorrow…to see the new James Bond movie with my husband!! THANK YOU to whomever designed CaptiView…it’s wonderful!! Then Lincoln, next week…and Les Mis on Christmas!! Never again do I have to wait months until a movie is released on DVD to be able to watch it!!

What’s this?
