CCAC and CaptionMatch don’t want you to pull your hair out!  🙂

They don’t know what or how to ask for a quote for CART or Captioning, and assume it’s too expensive. An excuse? Or really they have no idea? No matter what…we probably need to be prepared for some of these replies – they are not fiction!

We’re going to share some of the “typical” replies we get when asking for CART or Captioning.

The first time you are asking, or the first time you are doing it alone, you’ll probably encounter that reply, or some other “gems” we’ll be adding to this discussion.

What to do?

Count to ten….then educate them, advocate for yourself, ask us how.

Please ADD your own “gem” here soon! What are some of the replies you’ve gotten? Heard about? Another recent one for us was, from the meeting organizer – “what am I going to get out of it?” – we explained, access for everyone at the meeting that had a lot of people whose languages were from so many countries – and for those with hearing loss – and he refused (another entity came through for the person with hearing loss) – and after the meetings, he said, “sorry! i wish i had known how useful it was going to be!” – sigh…

Your encounters? Let’s make a good list here…

What’s this?
